Entry Level Software Test Engineer

Job Description

The Junior Software Test Engineer will perform Quality Assurance activities including testing, system specification analysis, test plan, script development and execution, results analysis, test result and defect reporting, troubleshooting and other tasks in collaboration with other teams.


  • Review and analyze system specifications.
  • Develop test scripts.
  • Report and document technical issues.
  • Collaborate with Software QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans.
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results.
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects.
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams along with supporting evidence.
  • Help troubleshoot issues.
  • Conduct post-release testing and integration.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively in an agile and very fast paced environment.


  • Proven experience as B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, bioscience, engineering or significant experience, with a minimum of 6 months of experience in a software development environment.
  • Good written and spoken English skills required.
  • Computer & Technical skills:
    • Knowledge of C#, .NET, Java or similar.
    • Web presentation jQuery/HTML5/CSS3 or JS Frameworks.
    • Working knowledge of object-oriented design and development skills.
    • Basic Knowledge in Database Development (SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL).
    • Basic Experience debugging.
    • Basic understanding of Web Services protocols such as REST, SOAP and API design for extensibility and portability.
    • Ability to use version control software such as TFS, GIT or SVN is a plus.
